Wray & Nephew

Wray Forward is a multi-year programme by Wray & Nephew in partnership with Foundervine, designed to support and celebrate Black-owned businesses in the UK. It combines expert-led workshops, pitch competitions, networking mixers, and the Powerbook to create a holistic ecosystem of growth and visibility for underrepresented founders.

The Challenge

The challenge was to deliver a unified brand and marketing experience across multiple programme strands. Each strand needed to feel distinct yet part of one cohesive Wray Forward identity, with strong design, storytelling, and communications to engage participants, funders, and wider audiences.

My Role

As part of the Foundervine Marketing Team, I contributed across Launch, Recruitment & Onboarding, and Program Delivery phases. My responsibilities spanned email campaigns, social media marketing, and design execution across all programme pillars.

Programme Pillars

Expert-Led Workshops

I designed promotional graphics, email announcements, and recap content to highlight industry experts and attract founders. The visual system balanced Wray & Nephew’s bold identity with clear, accessible layouts, making sessions easy to navigate and appealing to diverse audiences.

Pitch Night

For this high-energy competition, I developed engaging launch content, speaker and judge spotlights, and cohort announcement graphics. I also crafted live coverage assets to celebrate winners and drive audience participation online, ensuring Pitch Night stood out as both a celebration and a growth platform.

Mixers & Community Gatherings

I designed social media content and event materials to promote networking events, using vibrant graphics to create anticipation and highlight the community-building ethos of Wray Forward. These assets amplified the celebratory nature of the mixers, showcasing Black founders and their products.

Powerbook

I contributed to the design of assets spotlighting featured entrepreneurs, ensuring their achievements were presented in a professional, inspiring way. These visuals reinforced the Powerbook as a platform of recognition and storytelling for Black excellence in business.

Creative Approach

Using Photoshop, Figma, HubSpot, Google Analytics, and Meta Business Suite, I worked with the team to ensure brand consistency and engagement across all strands of Wray Forward. I created a multi-channel design and content workflow that balanced promotion, storytelling, and community-building, while continuously refining content based on performance data.

Impact

  • Delivered consistent, professional visuals across all programme strands.
  • Boosted recruitment and participation with high-performing social campaigns and emails.
  • Celebrated Black-owned businesses through storytelling and recognition platforms like Pitch Night and the Powerbook.
  • Enhanced the participant experience with clear, engaging communications across workshops and mixers.
  • Contributed to Wray Forward’s reputation as a leading platform for Black entrepreneurship in the UK.
